Bruce Springsteen on sales caused quite a fury here in WNY and all across the country. Bruce Springsteen received heavy backlash from disgruntled fans and the media for Springsteen’s choice to use the dynamic pricing model. The experience of buying tickets has left fans frustrated. These biggest fans feel taken advantage of when an event goes on sale. “There is no transparency in the ticket industry anymore. The artist, Ticketmaster and Live Nation are not being up front with fans. The fans that are most affected are the die-hard super fans that buy their tickets early, only to find out the prices at the box office and in the secondary market are far better. Essentially, they are being punished for buying early during the presale and first day on sale process”, says Nick Giammusso the President & CEO at VIPTIX.com
Bruce Springsteen is labeled as representing the working class. Angry fans are not used to the dynamic pricing model yet. It’s relatively a new pricing strategy to capture the most revenue during the presale and on sale demand. If tickets are selling fast, prices go up, if sales are slow, prices come down.
The artist should be able to sell their tickets at whatever price they want to. They should be able to sell for the price that meets demand. We live in a capitalist society, however, theses same fans should not be punished for buying tickets early. Admittedly, I don’t know what the answer is, but there should be a balance somewhere in the middle.
Fans should demand a fair market for the ticket industry. https://www.ticketbuyerbillofrights.org/
-
The Right to Transferability, where ticketholders decide how to use, sell or give away their tickets if they wish and not the entity that previously sold the tickets;
-
The Right to Transparency, which includes all-in pricing and disclosures of relevant information for the purchasing decision;
-
The Right to Set the Price, so that companies who originally sold the tickets cannot dictate to fans for what price they can or cannot resell their purchased tickets, and, lastly;
-
The Right to a Fair Marketplace, where fans compete with actual humans, not illegal software bots, for tickets.
“Fans deserve to know how many tickets are available for sale. It’s not fair that Ticketmaster withholds inventory to create a “fake demand”, and then make these tickets available later on. says Nick Giammusso. The fans we speak to on a regular basis are pissed off with the whole on sale experience.”
It seems for the majority of shows , it’s better to be patient and wait. It’s a game these days. What are Bruce Springsteen prices today? https://viptix.com/bruce-springsteen-tickets.html
