2020 has been quite the year for sports and entertainment. For the first time in decades, whole sports seasons are cancelled, artists tours are postponed to months in the future, and there are no summer events or gatherings to look forward to. This is all due to the notable Covid-19 virus.
As summer rolls on, many are looking forward to the fall, and the return of America’s favorite Sunday event, the NFL. There has been talk of a fanless season this year, but what if there was a way to get the stadium safely back to full capacity again?
Are drones the future of cleaning and sanitizing venues?
The idea of drone companies using their devices to sanitize sports stadiums such as the field, domes, and parks is one that could change the future of sports and entertainment in a post Covid-19 world. This would allow for more frequent and thorough cleanings of these stadiums while still continuing with the normal routine cleanings. This extra layer of sanitization could allow crowd gatherings to be safer and return quicker, but is also more cost effective than using only human services to disinfect.
Many companies are starting to advertise their agricultural drones as stadium sanitizing solutions, but studies have shown that this type of drone does not have the capability to disinfect the way it is being promoted. EagleHawk is the first company to create a drone with the ability to follow through with its promises to disinfect properly. According to their CEO Patrick Walsh, “EagleHawk has spent months researching, designing, and testing our solutions to ensure we’re offering a safe and effective service for our clients and are working closely with regulatory agencies such as the FAA, EPA and New York DEC to ensure all safety standards and protocols are followed.” They have recently tested their product at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY and found much success.
